Wave

In physics, a wave is disturbance or oscillation that travels through matter/space, accompanied by a transfer of energy. Wave motion transfers energy from one point to another, often with no permanent displacement of the particles of the medium—that is, with little or no associated mass transport.

BELL EXPERIMENT

BELL EXPERIMENT

Exp-1 To demonstrate that sound require a medium to transmit.
Exp-2 To demonstrate the atmospheric pressure.
Bell experiment : A sound wave is a longitudinal wave and it requires a material medium to transmit. Sound originates from bell. As the air is pumped out of the sealed bell jar, the sound from the bell jar fades. After sometime, no more sound is heard from the bell.

WAVE DEMONSTRATOR

WAVE DEMONSTRATOR

It demonstrates longitudinal and transverse motions, consisting of a number of eccentric discs supporting a series of metal rods. On revolving the handle, transverse waves are obtained with bent rods running in a metal guide. It consists of 24 nos. of Aluminium pulleys.
