BOYLE’S LAW APPARATUS 

 

Exp-1 Verifying the Boyle’s law when air is decompressed.
Exp-2 Verifying the Boyle’s law when air is compressed.

Boyle's-Law

A horizontally mounted acrylic tube having a graduated scale (0-300cm3) along one side. A gas tap closes the tube. Pressure gauge is present next to gas tap. By changing the position of rubber stopper, the effective length of the tube can be selected. The scale measures volume and pressure by means of pressure gauze. Boyle’s law is investigated by changing position of the stopper.

Hydraulic-Press

It has two graduated syringes situated on a metal frame, having capacities of 100 cm3 and 20cm3 respectively with ground pistons. Both the syringes are connected through a 3 position tap. These syringes may be exposed to atmosphere through this tap, isolated or interconnected as desired. Both the pistons are provided with platforms for loading. This item is used for demonstrating how fluid pressure is transmitted and mechanical advantage can be achieved.

NEWTON'S DEMONSTRATOR

Newton's Demonstrator

It demonstrates that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Lift and drop one ball to see one ball pop out from the other side. Lift two balls and two pop out. Six steel balls dia. 19mm approx, suspended from a chrome steel frame.

NEWTON'S SECOND LAW APPARATUS

Newton's Second Law

This apparatus effectively demonstrates newton’s second law of motion. It comprises of a metal base that mounts a spring-loaded bar and two metal spheres. The spring is compressed and locked into place by a lever. One of the spheres slides onto one end of the bar while the other is mounted in the depression adjacent to the opposite end.
On release of the lever the rod imparts a horizontal velocity on the second sphere whilst the other sphere simply falls vertically. Thus, this proves that the vertical and horizontal velocities are independent, as both spheres should fall at the same rate.

LIQUID LEVEL APPARATUS

It is used to demonstrate that the level of liquid is same irrespective of size or shape of vessel. A common horizontal tube is connected with 4 nos. of vertical tubes (different in shape & size). The unit is mounted on a wooden base 230 x 100 x 22 mm, total height 160mm.
